Nepenthes edwardsiana

The photo depicts a dried pitcher of Nepenthes edwardsiana. (Read more at Wikipedia) I don’t grow this one (yet); this is a pitcher sent to me by Jeremiah Harris from Colorado. (Jeremiah is Sam Estes’ continental agent for Leilani Nepenthes. Great selection of beautiful hybrids) N. edwardsiana is one of the largest pitchered species of the genus, generally around 30 cm tall! (On an adult plant, of course) That peristome is remarkable, with its ridges evolved into a row of ring-like hooks. Extraordinary!
