Someone mentioned to me recently how disappointed they were in the ‘Tarnok’ clone of S. leucophylla, so I had to go inspect my specimen more closely, to see how it measured up. I had to remove it from the pool to see it clearly, but I think this has developed – in a span of four years – into a respectable specimen, wouldn’t you agree?
Sarracenia leucophylla ‘Tarnok’
Its one of the Moorei clan (leucophylla X flava).
The seed parent is a Jerry Addington hybrid: S. (rubra X purpurea) F2 and the pollen parent is S. x ‘Judith Hindle’. Two different clones represented here.
S. flava rubricorpora X S. Leah Wilkerson
The plant is close to 36″ tall this year. Most impressive.
S. (rubra X purpurea) F2 X Judith Hindle
The seed parent is a Jerry Addington seedling that leans heavily in favor of S. rubra. How these seedlings got this dark coloring is a bit of a mystery (most of the cross have incredibly dark red/purple coloring).
